Here are the most important rules to know for flying a drone in Saint Lucia:
- Drone operators visiting the island must declare their drone to Customs and state that they intend to bring it home with them.
- Drone operators are prohibited from flying within three miles of the George F. L. Charles International Airport in Castries and the Hewanorra International Airport in Vieux Fort; this area is referred to as a No Drone Zone
- Commercial operators who want to fly within a No Drone Zone must request permission; applications are considered case-by-case.
- Flights outside of no-drone zones or within a three-mile radius of airports must contact the nearest airport’s air traffic control (ATC) tower and report their location and duration of the flight.
- Flights that depart from airports’ five-mile radius may contact the air traffic control (ATC) tower.
How to apply for authorization to fly a drone in Saint Lucia?
